Sorry We Missed You film still

Join us for a spring screening in the Landscapes of Labor film series co-presented by Penn State’s Sustainability Institute, the Center for Global Workers’ Rights, and WPSU. This online series explores the Sustainable Development Goals and how they reveal interconnections between issues of sustainability and issues of labor. Sorry We Missed You is a beautiful and heartrendingly intimate film from master director Ken Loach, whose work always explores people surviving on the edge of society. In this case, we follow one British family trying to survive in the gig economy and in a world where delivery services similar to Amazon increasingly squeeze workers as cogs in a machine, denied their basic humanity in a rush to keep moving. Following the film we’ll feature a post-film discussion with labor organizers who tried last year to organize the first union of Amazon workers. Free and open to all, but registration required.
