Join the Penn State Center for Performing Arts for the world premiere of A Marvelous Order, an opera by Judd Greenstein that dramatizes the battle between social activist Jane Jacobs and New York City power broker Robert Moses over urban redevelopment and community self-determination. When Moses plans to demolish Jacobs’ home and neighborhood, Jacobs leads a revolt, igniting a conflict that continues to shape built environments around the world—from small towns to global cities—and the lives of all who call them home.

The opera was brought to Penn State as part of the Mellon Foundation-funded “Reflection Project.” In conjunction with the screening a selection of animated works by the animator who is featured in the set design of “A Marvelous Order” is also on exhibit at the Palmer Museum of Art.

Watch a preview of “A Marvelous Order.”

Tickets are available through the Center for Performing Arts.
