Join Penn State’s Sustainability Institute and Water Council for a screening of Liz Miller’s The Water Front. This engaging documentary profiles the plight of Highland Park, Michigan, whose town privatized its water supply to address budget woes and left residents with unaffordable water bills. The film leads into a conversation of issues of water justice and security, as more than 800 million people worldwide face issues of water that is unsafe, unaffordable, or from untrustworthy governments. Following the screening, Penn State’s Water Council will lead a conversation with expert faculty and community leaders working on issues of water security in Pennsylvania.
