Centre County is updating its Hazard Mitigation Plan (HMP) and would like your input and participation in the process! Join County Officials to Learn More about Risk in Our Community!

Have you experienced issues with flooding, winter storms, transportation incidents, and other hazards? Learn more and provide feedback on how to handle risks in your community by attending the Centre County HMP Open House!

What is the HMP?

Every 5 years, the county must update their HMP, a community-driven plan that jurisdictions and other planning partners use to identify their vulnerability to hazards and create a strategy to address them. The plan guides risk-informed decision-making in our community. In addition, the county and any participating jurisdictions become eligible for significant federal funding resources when they adopt the plan after its update. You can view the 2021 plan at this link: https://www.pennsylvaniahmp.com/centre-hmp/centre-county-2015-hmp

Why Should I Attend the Open House?

This Open House will serve as an opportunity to ask questions, learn more about the plan and update process, and share information or experience that will help make the plan as detailed as possible! All residents, business owners, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend and get involved in the update process.

What Can I Do in the Meantime?

You can stay up to date on the project and access participation forms by visiting the project website at www.pennsylvaniahmp.com/centre‐hmp.

To provide feedback on the plan update, access the public survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2025-centrecounty_hmp
