Penn State’s Commonwealth Campuses have a long history of sustainability leadership, actions and innovations generated by their Green Teams and Sustainability Committees. Some of these informally-structured groups have evolved into formally structured Councils, with a Chancellor-appointed Chair and a Charter, outlining its approach to strategically advance the University’s goals from within the unit. Leaders and members from both types of sustainability groups, representing a diverse spectrum of roles, connect online through the Microsoft Teams platform and quarterly zoom calls on specific topics. Each May they gather either in person, or virtually, for a two-day forum to share initiatives and discuss best practices. Below are a list of the current heads of either campus councils or green teams/sustainability committees.
