More about the keynote speaker:
Laurene Allen is a Goldman Environmental Prize winner for her advocacy fighting against per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination in Merrimack, NH. She organized her community and fought against the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics plant to reveal troubling health data. Her efforts contributed to the plant shutting down in 2024 and an ongoing fight for proper remediation of the area. She also helped the federal government establish the first water quality standards for PFAS chemicals.
Questions about the Summit and how to get involved can be directed to Natalie Kitts (nck5152@psu.edu) and Julius Camper (jac8761@psu.edu).
