Penn State will host a screening of James Balog’s documentary, The Human Element at 7 pm on October 24th in 26 Hosler Building at Penn State’s University Park campus. The screening is free and open to the public.

The Human Element shows how “humans are a force of nature. At the same time human activities alter the basic elements of life – earth, air, water, and fire – those elements change human life. In an arresting new documentary from the producers of RACING EXTINCTION, THE COVE and CHASING ICE, environmental photographer James Balog captures the lives of everyday Americans on the front lines of climate change. With rare compassion and heart, THE HUMAN ELEMENT inspires us to reevaluate our relationship with the natural world.”

The film screening is sponsored by the Penn State chapter of the UNA-USA chapter.

Balog, an Emmy award-winning director, will be at Penn State University Park. On Thursday, October 26th will deliver a talk at the State Theater at 7 pm. Tickets are available. All proceeds will go to a student sustainability award through the Eberly College of Science.
