Nicole Marusco is a PSU alum, former Sustainability Institute intern, and ecologist living in the suburbs. Here’s her story:

Growing up as a 90s kid, I was very much into the materialistic world. When I started learning sustainability and permaculture concepts in undergrad programs (PSU’s Parks and People and Sustainability research in Jamaica) my entire world and mindset started to shift. Those experiences were impactful, and I still use practices from the programs today.

Over a decade, my earth conscious lifestyle has led me in many directions. Environmental education, ecological design, soil manufacturing, gardening, yoga instructor, beekeeping… and many more 😊. One common theme amongst all my endeavors involves a whole systems approach to life. This approach helps bridge gaps between the many systems that make up our lives! Topics discussed in this Green Living webinar will focus on our local, back yard ecology and how we can create deeper connections through outdoor hobbies.
