Webinar: "The Effect of Climate Change on Riverine Inputs to the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays"

Wednesday, June 28, 2017 - 12:00pm to 1:00pm

The loads of sediment, nutrients, and organic matter from the land surface to these estuaries, which are strongly influenced by climate variability, have been—and are expected to be—the main drivers of of water quality in these estuaries. In this talk, a synthesis is presented of the output of several hydrological and terrestrial biogeochemical models in order to determine the likely range in projected changes in these loads during the 21st century.

The success of efforts to restore the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays, two large, degraded estuaries in the Eastern United States, will depend on the future climate of the watersheds of these estuaries.
