The Pennsylvania State University is committed to fostering and encouraging students to engage in sustainable practices as well as making a commitment to financial wellbeing. The Penn State Financial Literacy and Wellness Center is committed to not only the directives of the University with regard to access and affordability, but also that of sustainability. This poster contest will act as a bridge between Financial Literacy and Sustainability. Encouraging students to change their way of thinking from holding the two as separate, and combining the two into one ideal.
Students who participate in the poster session should be able to define and explain certain imperative topics (learning objectives):
- Financial Literacy
Topic: Saving money as you're saving the environment.
Some ideas may include but are not limited to:
- The intersectionality of Financial Literacy and Sustainability with regard to:
i. Student housing
ii. In the office
iii. In the classroom
Specific to this contest rules:
Materials used for the poster including poster board MUST be made of recyclable materials (i.e. cardboard from a box as the poster board, recycled paper as part of decoration on poster board, etc.)
The session will be held on April 19th from 8am to 6 pm in room 229 HUB.
Light refreshments will be served from 4:30 – 6:00pm
Poster session participants should be present from 4:30 – 6pm.
Posters should be delivered by 9am and will be on display all day with judging to take place at 5 pm. Top three judge’s choices will have 5 minutes to present their poster ideas to the judges and then an overall winner will be selected.
Prizes will be awarded to top 3 posters. One student per poster and one poster per student. Open to all students of PSU.
