In his directorial debut, Academy Award-nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor turns a sensitive lens to this dramatic re-creation of the true story of William Kamkwamba, a boy whose curiosity and determination to learn helped him develop his own windmill system for his village in Malawi to counteract the impacts of long-term drought. A heart-rending and ultimately uplifting family story, this film makes the argument for expanding educational opportunities for all and for developing innovative, locally-based solutions to a changing climate.
