PA manufacturing to showcase best practice in sustainability through NASCAR Challenge

July 9, 2015
E3 (Economy - Energy - Environment): The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U. S. Department of Commerce's NIST Manufacturing Extension Partnership, and NASCAR Green are working together to encourage businesses to operate in a green and sustainable fashion by launching the third NASCAR Green/E3 Challenge.
With the help of NASCAR Green, manufacturers participating in the Pennsylvania E3 initiative will be eligible to compete by demonstrating the changes each company has implemented to become more sustainable. The winning manufacturer will receive a NASCAR VIP Experience to be awarded on Friday, July  31, 2015. This event follows similar E3 NASCAR successes in Virginia and North Carolina.
The Pennsylvania E3 initiative assists manufacturers in operating in a more efficient, competitive, and sustainable manner resulting in a more profitable business. E3 manufacturers begin by participating in assessments and training provided by technical centers such as PennTAP, NWIRC and DVIRC.  During this time, E3 participants are provided with recommendations on how to: reduce their environmental impact, improve efficiency, generate measurable cost savings, and support sustainability through educational awareness.
E3: Economy - Energy - Environment supports sustainable manufacturing. It is supported by six federal agencies: the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of Labor, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S Department of Energy, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
You are welcome to visit the racetrack, solar array and NASCAR VIP Award event at Pocono Raceway. Please let us know if you would like to attend this portion after the Kalahari Meeting when you register.
