Learn about PA Community Tree Map, an urban forest management tool developed specifically to enable Pennsylvania communities to manage their urban forests.
Join us as Mark Hockley, Tree Canopy Coordinator with the DCNR Bureau of Forestry and Hadley Stein, OpenTreeMap Product Specialist with Azavea, discuss PA Community Tree Map. This new tool helps communities educate citizens on trees’ ecosystem benefits, increase awareness of canopy coverage and make more informed land planning decisions. The tool gives communities, volunteers, and urban tree managers the ability to conduct tree inventories, monitoring activities, and urban tree canopy analyses, as well as track tree maintenance and stewardship activities.
CEUs: One Continuing Education Credit for Landscape Architects; Society of American Foresters (CFEs); and PLNA Certified Horticulturalist (PCH) will be offered to attendees.
