The Lion’s Pantry announces the hosting of Canstruction®- a unique event that combines creativity and innovation with hunger relief, on Wednesday, March 27th and Thursday, March 28th, 2019 from 8 am to 8 pm in Room 131 of the HUB-Robenson Center on the Penn State University Park campus. This event is a component of The Lion’s Pantry’s awareness and engagement activities. This event is free and open to the public.
Spencer Wallace, Lion’s Pantry Outreach Coordinator, describes, “This event is exciting as it brings together a variety of student organizations all with inspiring missions and showcases the power of innovation in fighting hunger.”
This Lion’s Pantry Event brings together Project Cahir, Penn State Global Brigades, The Lion’s Pantry Club, and The Student Farm Club as it strives to make a difference in addressing and mitigating student hunger at Penn State University Park campus. This event will both provide critical food resources and engage the student body and community through volunteer and educational opportunities. All four organizations will build structures made entirely out of cans and all items will be donated to the Lion’s Pantry.
Canstruction® gathers together people to build and view the unique structures and showcases the topic of hunger relief. This event will encourage all who attend to see the impact of student organizations committed to a cause; while also becoming more educated about the issues facing those around them.
