Yes, Penn State provides research to advice local policy making. For instance, the Penn State Social Science Institute created the Evidence-Based Policymaking Resource Center to help policy makers create policies based off of evidence-backed research. The Research Translation Platform also does this. Additionally, Penn State Sustainability’s Local Climate Action Program Connects students with local governments to develop a climate action plan for their municipality, using the student’s input.
