Talk: Taking on the Giant — Workers’ Power at Amazon
November 6 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pm EST
Amazon is one of the largest employers in the United States and globally, yet its treatment of workers and anti-union stance have drawn ongoing public scrutiny. Since 2020, Amazon warehouse workers across the country have organized to demand better conditions and representation. In this event, Jennifer Bates will share her experience working at Amazon and discuss how workers have fought for their rights through the “BAmazon” union campaign. Jennifer Bates joined Amazon’s Bessemer fulfillment center in 2020 and soon helped launch and lead the ‘BAmazon’ union campaign in response to unfair treatment.
Event is free and open to all.
Cosponsored by Sustain Penn State, College of the Liberal Arts, Consortium for Social Movements and Education Research and Practice, and The LABOR School.
