
Sustainable Lab Consultant Info Session

Do you want to make a positive impact at Penn State by working on sustainability challenges? Gain the tools, practice, and hands-on experience to make a difference by learning, developing, and guiding the implementation of Green Lab practices which will make a difference at Penn State through the Sustainable Lab program.
Sustainable Lab Consultants (SLCs) work an average of three hours a week throughout the academic year. Through SLC trainings and work in the lab, student will gather data, build relationships, create plans, and track impacts. In return, SLCs receive a stipend each semester and priceless experience leading sustainability initiatives.
Attending an info session is required of all applicants. Students who have not attended the February 9 info session in the HUB on the University Park campus can attend this virtual session. The recording will be posted at Penn State Sustainable Labs Program after the event.
As an SLC, students learn:
- Safe lab practices
- Principles of sustainability
- Green lab categories and opportunities
- Strategies that support behavior change
- How to guide and assess sustainability projects
