Sustainability Careers Series: Turning Passion Into Profession — Young Alumni Voices
September 22, 2025 @ 12:15 pm - 1:00 pm EDT
Interested in a sustainability job but not sure how to get your foot on the first rung of that career ladder? Hear from five recent Penn State alumni who took their passion for sustainability during their time as a student and are now starting out to take charge of their sustainability careers after graduation:
- Ashley Currey, ’25, B.S. Entrepreneurship
- Isabella Briseño Elafi, ’23, B.S. Environmental Resource Management
- Benjamin Lyman, ’20, B.S. Environmental Biology
- Marisela Sotelo Tornero, ’25, M.P.P. Public Policy Analysis
- Nora Van Horn, ’21, B.S. Philosophy, Global Studies, and Chinese
You’ll hear about the choices they made, resources they have found, and suggestions for how you, too, can get started.
This is the first in a series of three fall sustainability career webinars offered by Sustain Penn State and designed to help Penn State students envision sustainability career paths and meet alumni working in a variety of sustainability careers. All webinars are free and open to all and especially aimed at students early in their career thinking who want to learn more about what is possible.
