Student Farm Plant Sale
May 1 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT
The Student Farm Club’s 12th Annual Plant Sale is approaching, and we will have all the vegetables, succulents and natives you need! The sale will be from 11am-5pm on Friday, May 1 in the Tyson Greenhouses on Curtin Road at University Park campus. We have plenty of plants, so stop by any time. Note: We are also offering a special early half hour of shopping from 10:30-11am for customers to shop who have mobility challenges or are immunocompromised.
All of our vegetables and succulents are seeded, propagated and raised by Student Farm Club members, and we are excited to share them from our garden to yours. This year, we have over 100 varieties of veggies, herbs and flowers to choose from, including 21 tomato varieties.
NEW this Year Wow, we have lots of new things in store for this spring! Dahlia tubers, even more container gardening veggies, new cut flower varieties, and our tomatoes are now sold in larger pots.
Details We are adding additional varieties of cut flowers, so you can grow your own blooms for fresh bouquets! Several varieties are also great for hanging to dry, providing you with your own floral arrangements through the winter. We are also offering dahlia tubers for the first time, grown right on the Student Farm! Finally, based on customer feedback, tomatoes will be in a larger pot size, enabling gardeners to keep them healthy in their pots for a bit longer as we wait for our central PA weather to stabilize to a warm enough temp for transplanting. Due to the larger tomato pot size, they will be priced differently this year.
Another exciting selection back by popular demand this year will be several varieties of vegetables, herbs and flowers that are excellent for container gardening. So even if all you have is a balcony or patio, you’re sure to find something fun to grow this season!
Please bring your own box or bag to carry your plants, as well as cash or a check for payment. If driving to campus, the closest visitor parking is in the East parking deck, which is available at the posted hourly rate. (This is the parking deck where people typically park to visit the Creamery.)
