Join PERC for the Spring Sustainability Leaders Conference!

The Pennsylvania Environmental Resource Consortium (PERC), in cooperation with Penn State Sustainability, is hosting this one-day conference at the Eric J. Barron Innovation Hub in State College, PA. Today, we recognize Pennsylvania’s role in working to meet our country’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), among other commitments, and the function Human-Environment Interactions (HEIs) serve in supporting that endeavor. With over 60 Commonwealth institutions’ sustainability leaders invited, PERC looks forward to providing a day of sustainability programming via speaker presentations, a workshop session, and guest keynote speaker.

With speakers from a variety of disciplines, the day will offer the following content:

  • The Evolution of Climate Action and Leadership in Higher Education, Keynote Speech, Dr. Tim Carter, Second Nature President
  • Sustainability Curriculum: Competencies and Best Practices, presentation, Dr. Krista Bailey, Penn State Sustainability Associate Director for Campus Sustainability
  • Sustainability and Equity: A short film featuring student perspectives on equity’s place in sustainability
  • “Finding the Sweet Spot between Environmental and Financial Sustainability by The Stone House Group Managing Principal, Mr. Larry Eighmy
  • Exploring “Fostering a Culture of Sustainability”, workshop from PERC
  • We are also going to be joined by Dr. Richard Alley, National Medal of Science recipient and Evan Pugh University Professor of Geoscience, in the morning for the welcoming remarks.

In addition to the topics addressed above, the conference will feature designated time for leaders to network, share ideas, and make new connections that will strengthen institutional sustainability relations from across the state!
