Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice meeting
March 20 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm EDT
The Sustainable Communities Collaborative and Living Labs program convene an Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice meeting twice each semester. Designed to meet the needs and interests of faculty who are doing–or interested in doing–experiential learning in their courses, with their students, and/or as a research focus.
The March meeting will begin with a presentation by Ashley Holmes about the topic of her new book Learning on Location. According to the Center for Engaged Learning, the book “offers an innovative framework and set of pedagogical pathways for engaging student experience through critical engagement with place. The book draws on interviews and case studies with educators in the United States and Canada to highlight pedagogies-in-action and to identify programmatic models for embedding location-based learning within specific courses, majors, curricula, and campus-wide initiatives.”
Q&A and CoP discussion will follow. Faculty from all Penn State campuses are welcome to attend.
Register for the Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice meeting on Friday, March 20 from 12:30-1:30pm EST on the form PSU Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice REGISTRATION March 20, 2026
