Penn State is full of opportunities, and Penn State Sustainability staff are working to embed sustainability into all our operations, research, education, and outreach activities! Partner with us to help engage our community of lifelong learners in sustainability-related activities, innovate solutions to our most pressing problems, and connect with the Sustainable Development Goals. Check out some examples of our existing partnerships below, and please contact us with your ideas for partnering for sustainability!

Big10 & Friends

As a community of practice for sustainability in higher education institutions, the Big10 & Friends network shares best practices and experience to accelerate sustainability successes across the Big 10 and similar institutions.

Lightsource bp

Lightsource bp is a Penn State partner for the long haul – they will be providing us with renewable solar electricity for 25 years, but they are also supportive of our students, communities, and the environment. We look forward to continuing to build a great partnership!

Pepsico

Almost ten years ago, Pepsico saw an opportunity to make an impact for sustainability at Penn State when they committed funding to Penn State Sustainability. That funding kick-started the Student Farm, increased the scope of the Sustainable Communities Collaborative and City Semester programs, and supported student initiatives such as the Zero Waste President’s Box. We appreciate their partnership and support!

AEDG

AEDG developed the 2MW array on the University Park campus, but they have also worked with faculty, students, and staff on sustainability-related projects!  As a long-term provider of solar electricity to University Park, and a steward of the land under the array, we look forward to continuing to develop that site for research, teaching, and great environmental stewardship!
