The Sustainability Institute and Penn State Operations are currently hiring a qualified and highly motivated student intern to act as program manager for a new peer-to-peer engagement program – Energy Ambassadors.
A successful candidate must have a basic understanding of sustainability issues, energy literacy challenges and concepts, and exceptional written and in-person communication skills. Duties include: Act as program coordinator for the Energy Ambassador initiative (including faculty outreach, volunteer training and coordination, and administrative duties).
Promote ongoing communication with a wide array of stakeholders (on and off campus) to maximize interdepartmental collaboration. Utilizing the Department of Energy; Energy Literacy framework to assess current students understanding of nature and role of energy in the world. Coordinating Public Pedagogy and Engagement events for Fall and Spring.
The Associate Director for Student Engagement at the Sustainability Institute will provide day-to-day supervision with strong mentorship from the Superintendent of Steam Services and Energy Engineering team from Penn State Physical Plant.
Working hours are flexible with a minimum of 10 hours during the academic year and an increase up to 30 hours for the summer. With questions regarding this please contact Douglas Goodstein at the Sustainability Institute.
