The application deadline for the 2017 Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship award is fast approaching.
This fellowship award is not limited to landscape architecture students.
Students can submit their applications to the Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship in Garden History and Design through LAF’s online application system (SlideRoom) by the Feb. 1 deadline.
The Douglas Dockery Thomas Fellowship is a $4,000 fellowship is awarded to an exceptional graduate student to assist with study and research at a leading American institution. The Fellowship was stablished to reflect and promote the Garden Club of America’s interest in supporting garden history and design, and examining the future of gardens and their unique place in our environment. Today, with growing constraints on all open space, the art of the garden increases in importance. Professionals have expressed the need to focus on American garden history and design, and have expressed dismay at the lack of funding help for talented students.
