Degree Programs
Penn State has identified the following list of undergraduate and graduate degree programs and minors as sustainability-related.
Minor in Sustainability Leadership
The Intercollege Minor in Sustainability Leadership allows students in any major to incorporate sustainability as a significant theme in their undergraduate degree program. Through a combination of coursework and immersive experiences in sustainability, students develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes required to become sustainability leaders in their respective fields.
City Semester Pittsburgh/City Semester Philadelphia
Penn State sponsors two urban study away semesters for students interested in sustainability, serving the citizens of Pennsylvania, and job networking with leaders in the sustainability world. Students take one class together as a cohort, courses toward their major online, and are placed in an internship in an area of their choice. Fellowships of $2,500 are available to applicants.
Sustainable Communities Collaborative
Through the Sustainable Communitive Collaborative, students and faculty in existing courses engage with community partners and collaborate on sustainability projects.
