Research Interests, Activities, and Awards

Hinnov conducts time series analysis and modeling of geological signals relating to past global climate change; Earth’s tidal evolution and rotational history; and calibration of geologic time. She has worked in the geophysical exploration industry, on Earth’s polar motion at the U.S. Naval Observatory, and on the astronomical forcing of paleoclimate at Johns Hopkins University. In addition to her faculty position at George Mason, she also serrves as adjunct professor at John Hopkins University; and as Chair Professor at the China University of Geosciences
